Italy @ Frankfurt Buchmesse

The Frankfurt Buchmesse, one of the leading trade shows in the publishing sector, opens today and will run through October 23. Juergen Boos, director of the Frankfurt Book Fair, was quoted as saying, “We’re very pleased that the Italian Agency for Foreign Trade ICE and the Italian Publishers Association AIE, in cooperation with various Italian cultural institutes in Germany, are using the Frankfurt Book Fair to present their authors and their country to international trade professionals and interested readers.”
The totally redesigned Italian Pavilion can be found in Hall 5.0 (C36 and C37) and is more than doubled in size this year in relation to 2015.  A total of 107 Italian publishers will be represente, including Italy’s two largest publishing houses, Mondadori and RCS.

The Pavilion will highlight the regions of Lazio and Piedmont in an effort to attract attention to the smaller, more regional publishing houses present at the fair. The Piedmont section features 32 publishing houses, 29 of which are newcomers, and the Lazio section features 39 publishing houses, 36 of which are newcomers.

Those representing Italy in the traditional Pavilion are:
